With the heat picking up here in the US and abroad, we figured what better way to help you stay cool under pressure than to show you how Cirrus Migrate Cloud (CMC) and Cirrus Migrate On-Premises (CMO) can help solve your storage migration and data protection challenges! Every Wednesday for the rest of the summer we’re going to feature a brand new Customer Success Story / Case Study where we show how our partners and customers saved time and money when migrating and protecting their data using Cirrus Data products and solutions.

Our first Summer of Customer Success story features an enterprise-level clothing retailer with a significant e-commerce presence that ran into an issue with a storage array containing 100TB of key database storage that was in active production. The company’s IT staff realized that the array controllers were no longer responding to input, and the management GUI could not be updated because the array was no longer supported. After consulting with their professional services team (who also happened to be a CDS partner), the collective decision was made to migrate all the data off the array immediately before it suffered a complete failure.

With time of the essence and a very limited budget, it was Cirrus Data to the rescue with its new Cirrus Migrate Cloud, built on the bones and experience of CDS’ enterprise-leading CMO migration solution (formerly DMS). Our channel/services partner had long used CMO for enterprise-scale migration in the past and initially chose CMC for this project because it didn’t involve shipping and deploying appliances, and didn’t need to be connected physically to the failing storage or its SAN.
